Five alleged car thieves have been sent for trial charged following a crash in Dublin which caused the death of an elderly woman.

Mr James O'Reilly (18), of Millbrook Avenue, Kilbarrack, is charged with dangerous driving causing the death of Ms Theresa McGrath at Raheny Road on March 24th, 1997.

Mr O'Reilly, along with a juvenile, is also accused of taking possession of a car at Hollybrook Road in Clontarf. The two youths are jointly further accused of conspiracy to commit a robbery with a third juvenile.

Two other juveniles are charged with allowing themselves to be carried in a stolen car.

The five appeared in the Juvenile Court yesterday where they were remanded on bail to appear for trial at the present sittings of the Circuit Criminal Court.
