Five people were arrested yesterday morning after a sawn off shotgun, ammunition and a sum of money was seized after a car was stopped on the M7 motorway at Knockalton, Co. Tipperary.
The car was searched and the occupants, three men aged 19, 21 and 22 and two women aged 19 and 20, were arrested.
They are being detained at Nenagh, Thurles and Templemore Garda Stations under section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
