The body of a young Cork fisherman missing for over a month after his speedboat capsized was discovered near Little Island in Cork Harbour at the weekend. Mr Gerard Spillane, of Silverheights Drive, Mayfield, went missing when his boat was overturned by the wash from a passing ship at Monkstown Pier on January 10th. i from Cobh, assisted by Naval Service personnel from Haulbowline, Naval Base removed Mr Spillane's body to Cobh Hospital on Saturday evening.

A post-mortem yesterday morning by pathologist, Dr Margaret Bolster confirmed the body was that of Mr Spillane who is survived by his parents, Pat and Josephine, brothers, Tony, Patrick and Dominic, sister, Kathleen and fiance, Maeve Moriarty.
