Army bomb disposal experts tonight removed a fire bomb found in a Belfast city centre store.

The incendiary device was found by staff concealed in clothing on the first floor of the Primark store in Castle Street near Belfast's main shopping area, Royal Avenue.

Following the discovery of the device police urged all shop owners in the area to return to their premises to check if there were other devices.

Earlier today, police confirmed extra patrols would be put on Belfast's streets because of concerns about dissident republican groups planting fire bombs in the city centre.

Before tonight's discovery, four incendiary devices were discovered at stores in the city - the previous incident occurred at Dunnes stores on High Street at the weekend.
