Fire brigade tackles Tallaght apartment fire

Six units from the fire brigade attended a fire at a block of apartments in Tallaght, west Dublin, early this morning.

According to a fire brigade spokesman two breathing-apparatus teams entered the block at Exchange Hall, Belgard Square, and three people who were trapped in a fourth-floor apartment were taken out.

According to reports, more than 50 people were evacuated, and a number of people are believed to have been taken to hospital suffering suspected smoke inhalation.
