Dublin Tourism has won the Finnish Guild of Travel Writers Award for the best foreign travel destination 1997 at the Matka travel industry fair in Helsinki.
According to the adjudicators, "Dublin is an ideal destination for tourists interested in culture. There is a wealth of sights and places of interest covering over 5,000 years of history in the city and its surroundings."
