Fingal County Council will vote next month on a proposal to cut business rates and water charges which, if approved, will set an example “to the whole country”, says Fine Gael’s enterprise, trade and employment spokesman Leo Varadkar. The council votes on January 7th on the 2010 budget. It includes a reduction in business rates of 10.5 per cent and a 6 per cent drop in water charges.

Mr Varadkar said the cuts would provide an €8 million boost to businesses in Dublin 15 and north Co Dublin.
