The search for fine olive oils goes ever on, with the discovery recently of the crackingly good Raineri Mosto extra virgin olive oil, imported by the indefatigable Peter Ward, of Country Choice, in Nenagh, Co Tipperary.
The Raineri oil is made from hand picked olives. Importantly, it is not filtered, and so it is cloudy. Like the best Ligurian oils, it is sweetly herbaceous, with none of the insistent pepperiness which you can find in Tuscan oils. Raineri Mosto costs u £7.75 for 500 ml.
