A medical consultant who failed to declare income from private sources has been fined in court.

A medical consultant who failed to declare income from private sources has been fined in court.

Dorothy Niall, a consultant at the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, was investigated by Revenue’s Special Investigation Unit when discrepancies were noted in her returns over a four-year period.

Inspector of Taxes Fergus Dempsey said returns for the years 2004-2007 had now been filed and penalties had been paid. She was fined €3,500.
