The Republic's Border region could become involve making centre if plans by a London based Irish author and film director, Shane Connaughton, are realised.
He announced yesterday that he proposes to locate a number of future productions in the Cavan area because of the "scenic beauty of the countryside".
Two of Mr Connaughton's films, The Playboys and Run of the Country, were set in the Cavan area. The premiere of Run of the Country will take place in Dublin's Savoy Cinema next Wednesday.
