Fifteen men were found guilty today of fomenting an uprising last May in Andizhan, eastern Uzbekistan.

Fifteen men were found guilty today of fomenting an uprising last May in Andizhan, eastern Uzbekistan.

They were given jail sentences of between 14 and 20 years, Russia's RIA news agency reported.

Bloody suppression of the rebellion by Uzbek government troops, in which scores of people were killed, drew widespread condemnation from the European Union and the United States.
