Chong Chom - Intense fighting raged yesterday around O Smach, the last stronghold of troops loyal to Cambodia's ousted First Prime Minister, Prince Norodom Ranariddh. About 200 troops loyal to the Second Prime Minister, Mr Hun Sen, crossed into Thai territory during the battle, and Thai soldiers fired a warning flare at his forces after a stray shell landed in Thai territory, the military said.

Around 400 refugees streamed across the border into Thailand.
