Councillor John Kearney has been selected to stand as the Fine Gael candidate in Dublin Central constituency in the forthcoming general election. He replaces Mr Jim Mitchell TD, who is retiring from politics. Cllr Kearney (29), who represents the Cabra local authority ward, was selected by a two to one majority over a nephew of the former Fine Gael deputy leader Mr Peter Barry.
