A new EU programme to encourage voluntary youth work should not be allowed to replace job training or education programmes, according to a Fianna Fail MEP, Mr Brian Crowley. However, he welcomed the programme in which 2,500 young EU citizens will carry out socially useful voluntary work in other countries.
