Fermanagh GAA player Brian Og Maguire has died following an industrial accident.

Fermanagh GAA player Brian Og Maguire has died following an industrial accident.

The PSNI received a report of the incident in the Ballyconnell Road area of Derrylin shortly after 11am today. The Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland is investigating.

Mr Maguire was part of the Fermanagh senior gaelic football team. He played in the half-forward line in the Ulster SFC quarter-final defeat by Down at Brewster Park in June this year.

He also played in two of Fermanagh's McKenna Cup games in January and in four National League games for Fermanagh.

Mr Maguire represented Ireland at U17 in Internationals Rules against Australia and was captain of the Lisnaskea Emmetts team that won the All-Ireland Intermediate Football championship in Croke Park last year.

Friends and well known figures from the GAA community took to the social networking site Twitter to offer their condolences.
