PARIS - THE FBI has dropped all criminal scenarios for the crash of TWA Flight 800 except the possibility that it was hit by a fragment following the explosion of a missile nearby, a French victims' association said yesterday.
Mr Jose Cremades, president of the association, met FBI officials in New York and said afterwards that they had practically finished their inquiry into the July 1996 crash off New York, which killed all 230 people on board.
