The father of Geoffrey Gurr (18), a prisoner who hanged himself in a cell at Wheatfield Prison, Clondalkin, on March 4th, 1993, is suing the State for up to £30,000 damages in the Circuit Civil Court.

Mr John Gurr's counsel, Mr Michael Coen, was granted discovery of documents yesterday in relation to his imprisonment and relating to the inquest.
