A 52-year-old Co Limerick mechanic, the father of three, who pleaded guilty to three charges of incest, sexual and indecent assault of his daughter, now aged 18, was sentenced to a total of 12 years' imprisonment by Judge Sean O Laoire in Limerick Circuit Court yesterday.
It was stated that the offences began when the child was 10 and continued until she left the family home at 17. The offences occurred between July 1989 and February 1996.
