An assistant at a fast-food restaurant in Belfast was beaten by a man wielding a golf club last night in what police suspect is another racially motivated attack.

It is understood that a customer, who had apparently been causing trouble in the shop earlier in the evening, returned and head butted the man and then hit him repeatedly with the club.

The man was treated in hospital for his injuries.
