Moscow - An unemployed man was found hanging from a tree with a cucumber stuck in his mouth in rural Moldova, apparently killed by vegetable growers angry at widespread theft of their produce, Itar-Tass news agency said yesterday. "Despairing of help from police, local residents guard their gardens in turns and punish thieves themselves," Tass quoted local authority spokesman as saying near Dubasari, in Moldova's separatist Dnestr region.
