London - A farmer in Sussex is seeking £10,000 sterling in compensation for damage done to his fields during the search for murdered eight-year-old Sarah Payne, according to reports.

Mr Paul Langmead says police and volunteers destroyed part of his wheat crop during the search. The BBC quoted a police source as saying officers had reacted with disbelief to the claim.
