A Co Limerick farmer died on Saturday when a mechanical dumper overturned on him.

A Co Limerick farmer died on Saturday when a mechanical dumper overturned on him.

Mr Denis Ryan (41), of Glenstal, Murroe, was digging foundations for a new bungalow beside the family home when the accident happened on Saturday evening. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, and by four children aged between four and 10.

In Co Clare, a pedestrian died after being struck by a car early yesterday morning. Mr Declan Brennan (19), of Moughna, Miltown Malbay, was walking towards his home just before 6 a.m. yesterday when he was knocked down at Gurrane outside Ennistymon. The driver of the car was uninjured.
