The director general of the Irish Co-Operative Organisation Society (ICOS), Mr John Tyrrell, has warned that the Agenda 2000 proposals, designed to pave the way for a further World Trade Agreement, will reduce beef, cereal and dairy incomes. He told the ICOS national conference that the full effect would mean a loss of £100 million in output for the agricultural industry, even allowing for compensation payments.
