The abolition of party whips on moral issues has been called for by Family Solidarity.
The group's annual general meeting in Dublin on Saturday also called for a referendum to reverse the effects of the Supreme Court decision in the X case effective measures to protect the elderly and those living alone in isolated areas against "robbery and attacks greater support for women suffering from domestic violence and detention of control of school boards by the school patron as the only effective way to ensure preservation of the ethos of the school".
The keynote address at the fleeting was given by Ms Monica Barber who said the demand for State creches made by the Commission for the Status of Women should be rejected.
