A two-year-old boy escaped injury when shots were fired at his parents' home in Co Armagh last night.

A PSNI spokeswoman said the boy, his parents and his grandfather were in the house on the Parkmore estate in Craigavon when two masked men opened fire at around 9.45 p.m.

Two bullets hit walls in the kitchen and hallway of the house, but there were no injuries. The two gunmen escaped on foot.

A motive for the gun attack is still being investigated, although police do not believe it was sectarian.

Elsewhere, a man was shot several times in East Belfast last night. He was hit in an arm and his legs in the Park Avenue area. The man is believed to be in a stable condition in hospital.
