London - Eight British families who lost relatives after they were treated with CJD-infected growth hormone have won a legal battle for compensation from the British government.

Their eight-year campaign ended in the High Court in London yesterday when the court ruled they should receive £1 million in compensation because their relatives were treated after the Department of Health's cut-off date of July 1st, 1977.
