Loud explosions from suspected mortar or rocket fire rang out in central Baghdad today evening and smoke rose from the "Green Zone" compound housing the headquarters of the US-led administration in Iraq.
The Green Zone regularly comes under mortar or rocket attack, normally without major damage or casualties.
