Four former employees of a Dublin-based private bus service, the Patton Flyer, have applied to the Employment Appeals Tribunal for redundancy, reports Fiona Gartland.

The bus company, which fought and lost a long battle with the Department of Transport to secure a licence to operate a route from Dalkey to Dublin airport, told the tribunal it could not fund the redundancy payments due to its former drivers.

The drivers from Poland, Anna Nowicka, Joanne Majchrzak, Damian Garczyk and Maruisz Swinski, had been employed from January 2008 and were dismissed in June 2010.
