The names of the eight Irish Eurosong `96 finalists have been announced

The names of the eight Irish Eurosong `96 finalists have been announced. They were chosen from 300 entries submitted to RTE last November.

The finalists' songs will be performed on the Kenny Live show during the coming weeks

A spokeswoman for RTE, Ms Mary Woods, said voting panels from different parts of the country would choose one song from the eight to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest.

The eight finalists are Raymond Smyth with his song Missing You, Stephen Nimmon with Worlds Apart, Marion Fossett with This Time, Tony Burke and Robert Burke with Gotta Know Right Now, Brendan Graham with The Voice, Sean Monaghan with Amhran an Ronnach, Richard Speedie with Find My Way, and Peter Beckett with Once Again.
