Enjoy the sun while you can - it is not going to last

LIGHT THE barbecues and put out the washing while you can as the good weather will not continue into the weekend

LIGHT THE barbecues and put out the washing while you can as the good weather will not continue into the weekend. The blue skies and warm weather will continue across the country today but will not remain over the weekend, according to Met Éireann.

Claremorris in Co Mayo recorded a temperature of 23 degrees yesterday, while Malin Head recorded a low of 14 degrees.

Meteorologist David Rogers said temperatures would reach 24 to 25 degrees today.

“The weather will remain good but will become unsettled on Saturday, with rain beginning in the southwest and spreading countrywide.”

Tomorrow will be breezy and will not feel quite as warm as recent days but top temperatures will range from 17 to 22 degrees, highest in Connacht and west Ulster.

There will be sunshine in some parts of the north and the east for a time on Saturday, but it will also be breezy.
