The mother of a mentally handicapped man is to stand in the general election to highlight St Ita's Hospital in Portrane, Dublin, which she said was underfunded.
Ms Annie Ryan, who will stand in the Dublin North constituency, is a former president of the National Association for the Mentally Handicapped of Ireland.
