Elderly woman knocked down by bus in Dublin

A woman in her 70s is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a bus in Dublin city centre.

A woman in her 70s is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a bus in Dublin city centre.

The incident happened at around 12.15 p.m. at the junction of Ormond Quay and Liffey Street on the north quays.

It is understood the woman was crossing the road at the Ha'penny Bridge when she was knocked down by a Bus Éireann coach.

She was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment.
