An elderly woman has died in a car crash in Co Galway.
The woman, believed to be in her 70s, was killed when her car hit a wall at Knock, Inverin, Co Galway, at around 1pm today.
No one else was in the car and no other vehicle was involved, the Garda press office said.
More than 240 people have died on the State's roads so far this year - at least 15 more than the number killed in the same period in 2005.
