Gardai are searching for two men in their 20s who held an elderly woman captive in her home on Harold's Cross Road in Dublin and threatened to kill her.

The 62-year-old woman was alone in the house when the two broke in through a rear window shortly after 10.30 p.m. on Sunday. They searched the premises, taking a small amount of money, a bank card and the keys to a business premises on Lower Baggot Street where the woman worked.

One of the men stayed at the house with her for over half an hour, while the other went to the business address, where he found about £1,500 in cash.
