Gardaí have named the 93-year-old man who died yesterday following a crash in Co Donegal.

Gardaí have named the 93-year-old man who died yesterday following a crash in Co Donegal.

Robert Christie from Drumaweir, Greencastle, Co Donegal, died after the car he was driving collided with a lorry at Drumkeen on the Letterkenny to Ballybofey road shortly after 3.30pm.

The driver of the lorry received minor injuries and was taken to Letterkenny Hospital.

A total of 137 people have died on the State's roads so far this year, about 20 less than the same period last year.
