Elderly centres to close in North

Twenty-five day-care centres for the elderly are to shut across Northern Ireland

Twenty-five day-care centres for the elderly are to shut across Northern Ireland. More than 600 people will be affected by the closures, which have been forced by a lack of government funding for the Fold Housing Association, which runs the centres.

The Fold Housing Trust's chief executive, Mr Brian Coulter, said all the centres would close by the end of March next year.
