Eight people were arrested last night in connection with a number of attacks on homes and a car in Mullingar, Co Westmeath.
Five people have been charged and released on bail to appear before Mullingar District Court on Thursday.
Three others were released without charge. The violence took place in the Mill Road area of the town, according to gardaí.
