Gardaí are continuning to question eight people over two seizures of drugs worth an estimated €660,000 in Celbridge and Adamstown.

Four men were arrested after gardaí stopped two cars shortly after 4.30pm yesterday afternoon in Celbridge and recovered 30kgs of herbal cannabis.

The men, aged 22, 43, 45 and 49, are being questioned in Lucan and Leixlip Garda stations under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.

In a follow up search of an apartment in Adamstown, a further 25kgs of cannabis was found and three men and a woman, aged 32, 38, 40 and 42, were arrested.

They are being held in Clondalkin and Ballyfermot Garda stations

The operation was carried out by members of the Organised Crime Unit and the Garda National Drugs Unit.
