JOHANNESBURG - A roadside fistfight between two drunken new year's revellers led to a traffic accident that claimed eight lives.

The driver of a vehicle near Port Shepstone, on the main Johannesburg-Durban highway, tried to avoid the brawling men in the incident early on Monday morning. He failed and killed the two, then crashed into an oncoming vehicle. The drivers of both vehicles and three passengers died.
