Three students were removed from the new student centre in UCD after two eggs were thrown at Taoiseach Enda Kenny during the building’s official opening yesterday.

Although neither egg hit Mr Kenny, one reportedly hit UCD’s vice-president for students, Martin Butler.

A spokesman for the university said it was likely the three students would receive sanctions under the university’s code of conduct.

Student group Free Education for Everyone (Fee) has claimed responsibility, saying students have been badly hit by Government actions.
