Farmyard effluent has been blamed for a fish kill in Co Sligo where up to 200 trout have died.

Farmyard effluent has been blamed for a fish kill in Co Sligo where up to 200 trout have died.

The North Western Regional Fisheries Board said yesterday the kill occurred on the Carney River near Drumcliffe. It is the second occasion in recent years in which a fish kill has occurred on this river, according to the Board.
