The umbrella body for the floristry industry is the Irish Flower Council

The IFC estimates there are about 2,000 to 3,000 people working in the industry as a whole and around 600 retail florists shops.

Crumlin College, Dublin has been running a floristry course for the last six years. Only two men have attended this course over that time, yet more men than women own florist shops.
