A total of 29 Irish people petitioned the European Parliament to intervene in a variety of problems, according to the annual report of the petitions committee presented in Strasbourg yesterday. One Irish petitioner in her 90s complained that her claim for compensation from the fund for victims of Nazi persecution had been rejected by the German authorities.
