A leading Vienna dental surgeon has been awarded £1 million in a High Court settlement in Ennis, arising from a motor car accident while he was on a golfing holiday in August 1992. The case was settled with a consent order made by Ms Justice Mary Laffoy for damages in favour of Dr Christian Senger, a former Austrian international skier. Ms Justice Laffoy ordered that Dr Senger receive £300,000 for pain and suffering; £60,000 out of pocket expenses, and £640,000 for loss of earnings from August 1992 until he reached the age of 65.

Liability by the defendants, Niall and Timothy Kelly, Mahon Park, Blackrock, Co Cork, was admitted.
