London - Scientists have come up with the first direct evidence that ecstasy can trigger long-lasting changes to the human brain, they revealed last night. A series of brain scans on drug-users by American scientists from the University of Baltimore showed that ecstasy damaged nerve junctions in the brain. Other studies suggest that the drug can cause memory impairment and depression, according to a report in the New Scientist journal.
