The European Commission will dispute a court challenge filed recently by Poland to the EC's decision to approve Italian bank Unicredito's takeover of Germany's HVB.
"There is a process to go through in the courts," European Union Internal Market Commissioner Charlie McCreevy told reporters after remarks to a foreign policy group.
"The commission will be, of course, disputing it," Mr McCreevy said, referring to the Polish challenge.
