Baltimore Technologies confirmed today it has received details of potential claims estimated at £4.5 million sterling from British Internet payment infrastructure company Earthport.

The alleged claims arose out of agreements entered into between Baltimore and Earthport in March 2001. Earthport has not begun legal proceedings in respect of these claims, a statement from Baltimore said today.

The claims include with interest and additional damages that Earthport is assessing but which it claims to be substantial.

Baltimore said its board will "urgently look into this matter but knows of no foundation for these alleged claims".
