The former leader of Fine Gael, Mr Alan Dukes, has been unanimously elected chairman of the European Movement in Ireland. Mr Dukes, chairman of the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs, succeeds Mr Pat Farrell, general secretary of Fianna Fail, who had served as chairman since 1993.
