A Dublin youth pleaded guilty in the Central Criminal Court yesterday to raping a 12-year-old girl two years ago.
The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was remanded on bail for sentence on October 16th. He admitted committing the offence on September 30th, 1996. Two co-accused have opted for trial by jury on a later date.
Mr Justice Carney directed the preparation of a victim impact report on the girl and a probation report on the defendant. Evidence of the offence will be given at the sentence hearing.
