The Teresian School in Donnybrook, Dublin, has won the primary school section of the annual MS ReadaThon event in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Ireland.

The joint secondary school winners were Schull Community College, Co Cork, and St Dominic's High School, Belfast.

Over 18,000 schoolchildren from 400 schools took part.

Individual winners were Anthony O'Rourke, Scoil Talbot, Clondalkin, Dublin Michelle Kiran, Claregalway, Co Galway and Sharon Byrne, St Joseph's National School, Shrule, Co Galway.

The winning teacher was Ms Caitriona Greally, of Cobb Convent, Co Cork.
